Poirier (“Arena” with Crookers and Face T) and Dubmatix (“Mousetrap Dub” featuring Eek A Mouse) are also featured on the critically acclaimed Dread & Alive’s The Lost Tapes Volume 5 and will always be winners to us. POIRIER

Drawing from a wide range of tropical riddims and urban electro, the power of Montréal-based DJ/producer Poirier’s bass blasts through any flimsy attempt to classify his music. Pinpointing the bits and pieces of dancehall beats, soca energy and electronic intensity is futile in the face of Poirier’s dance-driven creativity and air horn-worthy excitement. Signed to Ninja Tune, this is a man who just understands what works in the dance.

.DUBMATIX

Nominated for Reggae Recording of the Year
For the album: System Shakedown (Renegade Media)

Having imprinted his name in the minds of reggae fans worldwide with his debut release Champion Sound Clash in 2004, the Toronto-born producer is now firmly established as one of the top reggae producers worldwide with three chart-topping releases that includes the 2009 JUNO Award-nominated “Renegade Rocker” and the 2010 JUNO Award win for Best Reggae Recording plus international acclaim and a list of collaborations that include some of reggae’s most influential legends.
