Deh Deh – Denroy and Devano Mclean – two blood brothers with music, vibez and culture running through their veins announced their presence quite clearly at the 2007 Digicel Rising Stars competition in which they finished among the top 10 finalists.
“Would A Know” draws the listener in with, ‘what if?’. “Mi nuh know wats coming or wats next, So mi live my life like its my last breath”. A heartfelt ballad with particular relevance today, “Would A Know” showcases the writing ability of Deh Deh with lyrical mentoring from the ‘freedom fighter’, Anthony B.
Musically arranged and composed by Steve Locke with contributions from Keyboard maestro, Nigel “Sleepy Splu” Staff and Adrian Locke, “Would A Know” was mixed and mastered by the skillful and accomplished Phillip ‘Junior Arrows’ Linton of Arrows Productions.

A “female version of Horace Andy… Solid and different.” – Achis Reggae
From her work with Sly & Robbie (Annette Brissett and the Taxi Gang) to penning hits for Marcia Griffiths (“I Shall Sing”) and the duet “I’ll Be There For You” with Beres Hammond, Annette Brissett has been a key figure in reggae music for decades. And on her most recent album, Lift Your Head Up, a project two years in the making, Annette shines as a solo artist.
Annette’s unique lyrical style and consciousness are deep, powerful and soul searching. An accomplished musician herself (she played every instrument on the Sasston release, Gun Shooting Raw), the 14-tracks on Lift Your Head Up rock the body with authentic reggae music and real instruments and uplifts the soul with delicate dub and well crafted production. Early praise for the record compares Annette to a “female version of Horace Andy… solid and different” (Achis Reggae).
Like many others before her, Annette came out of a religious background before beginning her musical career at the age of eleven. Her basic spirituality soon became the inner source that has stimulated and inspired her to write and compose the kind of music and lyrics that she does and most of what motivates her creativity comes from everyday experiences and her soul. As she so aptly says, “The more I got into the music, the more it got into me”.
From Bob Marley to Busy Signal, Tasha Rozez has crafted another unique perspective on reggae and dancehall culture, indeed, Life itself. Dedicated to mothers and those who give life everywhere. Enjoy the music. Enjoy Life.

Following the amazing reception worldwide to the first singles released on the riddim, Kali Blaxx’ “Nah Trust Dem” and “Be What You Want To Be” from Pressure earlier this month, Itation Records is pleased to announce that on May 11, 2010 Itation will release the complete set of 17 crucial tracks on the Clearly Riddim. Another creative partnership between Itation and the Tune In Crew production team, the Clearly riddim will light the way among roots and kulcha reggae fans for a long time to come. Tarrus Riley strips roots and soul to its essentials on “Intimate Reservations”, the latest release from Rosegold Entertainment (Rooftop Riddim, Netzah Riddim) with musical director and saxophone maestro, Dean Fraser, seamlessly responding with bright solos. The breathless emotion of Tarrus is palpable and, as he has shown on hits from “She’s Royal” to “Stay With You”, Tarrus hits the notes on cue with absolute ease. Intimate Reservations is now available on iTunes and e-tailers everywhere courtesy of Zojak World Wide.
Vivian “Yabby You” Jackson passed away only recently, but his legacy is already assured. Yabby You Music and Zojak World Wide are pleased to present the release of Legacy, a 25-track collection of crucial Vivian Jackson productions. Set to be featured May 4th, 2010 on iTunes and available via e-tailers worldwide, Legacy spans the entire career of the legendary artist/producer and features songs digitally re-mastered by world-renowned engineer, James “Bonzai” Caruso (4-time Grammy winner for Damian Marley’s Welcome to Jamrock and Stephen Marley’s Mind Control). An active Christian throughout his life, Yabby You, or Jesus Dread, as he was sometimes known, set himself apart from his mostly Rastafarian contemporaries. However, it was his music that would make an even more lasting impression.
Legacy opens appropriately with Vivan Jackson’s breakthrough song, Conquering Lion. Recorded for legendary producer King Tubby in 1972, “Conquering Lion” established Vivian Jackson as a signature voice of roots reggae and gave him the nickname Yabby You heard in the song’s now iconic introduction, “Be-you, Yabby-Yabby-you”. Many of the hits that followed are included on this collection, classics like “Run Come Rally”, “Love Thy Neighbor” and “Warn The Nation”. Indeed, Yabby You followed in King Tubby’s footsteps, becoming a legendary producer himself, applying his unique sound to artists and musicians alike including Wayne Wade (“Fire Fire”), Dillinger (“Freshly”), Tommy McCook (Revenge”) and Trinity & Dillinger’s tribute “Jesus Dread”. Completing the album is Yabby You’s combination with Big Youth, “Yabby Youth”, which has Big Youth deejaying on top of the “Conquering Lion” track and brings us full circle.
Emotional and full of righteousness, Yabby You’s “Legacy” combines music and message and is as extraordinary today as when first recorded “Conquering Lion” in 1972. On this special release, digitally re-mastered to capture his unique and unparalleled sound, the spirit of his music and message is made all the more powerful.
